ABBEY RICE

The Nitty Gritty

I am a New York-based actor, singer, dancer from Forest, Virginia! I graduated with my BFA in Musical Theatre from Long Island University where I studied with a specialization in Viewpoints, Laban, and Suzuki. I have a deep love of jazz music, complex harmonies, and well-written text. I am always looking for new, big choices to discover within each piece, I bring a fierce sense of commitment to everything I do, rounded out by an extreme dedication to refine and elevate each detail. I am known for my magnetism, quick wit, refusal to settle, and my belief that art is never finished! Above all else, I value telling women-centric stories that allow space for truthful exploration of societal, cultural, and political influences over the consequences and successes of existing as a woman throughout history.

What’s the talk of the town?

Abbey recently closed the New York City debut of the play Until by Elijah Vazquez at Theatre for the New City! She reprised the role she workshopped back in 2022 at Post Theatre Company, once again under the incomparable direction of Téa Einarson. You can find any additional photos, captured by the wonderful Alexandria Nance, here!
